How credits actually work
Credits are Lovable's universal currency. They cover AI build messages, plan-mode conversations, Cloud database usage, edge functions, storage, and AI Gateway calls (chat, image generation, embeddings).
What costs what
- Plan mode messages — 1 credit per message. "Try to fix" attempts are free.
- Build mode messages — usage-based; depends on the size and complexity of the change. A small copy tweak is cheap; rebuilding a hero is more.
- Lovable Cloud (database, storage, functions) — small monthly free allowance: 40 credits on Free/Pro, 20 on Business. Beyond that, real usage gets deducted.
- AI Gateway (in-app AI features you build) — billed per token, deducted from the same balance.

A typical "ship a landing page + lead form + thank-you email" build runs ~15–40 credits depending on iteration. A full funnel with checkout and database usually lands between 80–200 credits.
